The Nexus One is Google’s “superphone” (as they put it) that does everything you’ve ever wanted your phone to do. Internet, e-mail, photos, video, music, messaging, weather, news, speech-to-text, live wallpapers…it does it all. It even makes calls!
But, in all seriousness, if you want an Android phone right now, this is the one to get. The Nexus One is powered by the blazingly-fast 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor. The phone features a 3.7″ 480×800 AMOLED touchscreen, making the iPhone’s 3.5″ 480×320 screen look like garbage. The Nexus also features the latest version of Android, 2.1, which contains numerous enhancements over the Droid’s 2.0 including live wallpapers, a revamped Gallery app, and five home screens instead of three. Sizewise, the phone is 4.69″ tall, 2.35″ wide, and just .45″ thin. It’s the slimmest Android phone on the market, but also the tallest.
Not only is it big on features, but its also big on price. The Nexus is currently being sold unlocked for $530. Its a GSM phone so you can use it with T-Mobile, AT&T (sans 3G), and a few foreign carriers. However, Google is selling a locked version of the device to new, T-Mobile customers for $179. Unfortunately, existing customers will not be able to take advantage of that offer due to limitations set by Google. So, it’s your call on whether or not you should fork out over $500 for this awesome device (I say you should!).
